North Kansas City Public Library
Located in the heart of historic downtown NKC, North Kansas City Public Library has served the Northland as a welcoming doorway to a world of information for 80 years (and counting!). As one of the region’s only remaining stand-alone libraries, we value our special and longstanding relationship with our patron community, and we strive to make excellent customer service a top priority. As part of this commitment, we recently transitioned to a larger materials-sharing group, a move that has given NKCPL members access to the largest physical library collection in the state. We also house a vibrant digital collection and offer access to a host of other useful resources: computers, wifi and a number of other services. We’re proud of our robust slate of classes and events, too, from our weekly Storytimes for kids in a charming, mural-painted Storytime room, to weekly programs for adults on topics ranging from food to crafts to wellness (and beyond). Finally, NKCPL is home to Common Threads, a new makerspace for sewing and fiber crafts that houses all the supplies you’ll need (including machines!), to jump-start your creative journey–all for free. In short, there are so many ways to connect here–and there is so much to discover. To explore more, please go to nkcpl.org.
